Visionary Insights: Samuel Lam Discusses Hong Kong's Potential as a "City in the Sky" in Exclusive Interview on Low Altitude Economy

The “Working Group on Developing the Low Altitude Economy” has recently officially launched the “Regulatory Sandbox” pilot project. As pioneers in the drone performance sector, we are filled with anticipation and will actively apply to participate.

This is an important step by the government in promoting the low altitude economy. We believe that through this initiative, we can accumulate valuable data and experience, thereby advancing the development of low altitude economic infrastructure, including terminals, networks, platforms, and applications, alongside the dual support of AI and security, as well as regulations and route planning in the low altitude sector.

We sincerely hope that the government will further simplify the approval process, facilitating business expansion and allowing innovation to thrive without constraints. As Samuel Lam noted, while Hong Kong faces challenges in developing the low-altitude economy, we possess unique advantages in finance, law, and policy that can attract more enterprises from both the mainland and abroad. As Hong Kong establishes standards for the low-altitude economy, we recommend the introduction of more mainland drone companies, with the aim of making Hong Kong a "City in the Sky."
